Itinerary
- Day 1 – Arrive Anchorage:
Arrive in Anchorage, where you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. After settling in, meet your Tour Director and fellow guests during a Welcome Reception this evening.
- Day 2 – Anchorage:
This morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Anchorage, including a visit to the Alaska Native Heritage Center, where you’ll gain insight into the traditional and contemporary cultures of Alaska’s Indigenous peoples. This afternoon is yours to explore at leisure.

Enjoy a scenic journey to Denali on your Insider Experience today.
Insider Experience – McKinley Explorer
Travel aboard the McKinley Explorer to the township of Denali. Expansive glass-domed windows offer 360-degree views, while a host guide accompanies each rail car. Witness the breathtaking expanse of the pristine Alaskan wilderness unfolding before you as you traverse the magnificent Hurricane Gulch and journey through Broad Pass. Admire the majestic peak of Denali, the tallest mountain in North America.
- Day 4 – Denali National Park:
Today begins with a special Insider Experience. The rest of the afternoon and evening are yours to enjoy at leisure, allowing you to relax and unwind at Holland America Denali Lodge. Alternatively, you might like to visit Denali Square, the social heart of the resort, and perhaps attend an engaging ranger talk.
Insider Experience – Tundra Wilderness Tour
Explore the tundra wilderness country of Denali National Park, accompanied by a knowledgeable local ranger. Look out for native wildlife, such as moose, caribou, grizzly bears and wolves. Learn about the work of wildlife biologists and see why conservation is so paramount to this part of Alaska. The Tundra Wilderness Tour experience is operated by the US National Park, allowing a unique opportunity to travel on a school bus into the park.
- Day 5 – Denali, Fairbanks:
Depart Denali today and journey to Fairbanks, where you’ll embark on a scenic cruise along the Chena River aboard a historic sternwheeler. As you glide through the tranquil waters, admire the lush landscapes and spot local wildlife.
- Day 6 – Fairbanks, Dawson City:
Board your included flight to colourful Dawson City in the Yukon, once the pulsing heart of the Klondike Gold Rush. Today, its wooden sidewalks and frontier-era buildings line the banks of the Yukon River. Tonight, step back in time with a lively show at Diamond Tooth Gerties Gambling Hall.
- Day 7 – Dawson City:
This morning, enjoy an Insider Experience before spending an afternoon at leisure.
Insider Experience – Dawson City Historic Walking Tour
A perfect introduction to Dawson City, this guided town tour explores historic Gold Rush buildings within a living town, where lively interpreters in period costume bring 1898 to life through tales of adventure.
- Day 8 – Dawson City, Whitehorse:
Drive through the vast wilderness of the Yukon, where gold rush history meets rugged peaks and pristine lakes, before arriving in Whitehorse, the largest city in northern Canada. Wander streets steeped in history and discover how, during the Klondike Gold Rush, prospectors arrived here after navigating the formidable Miles Canyon and Whitehorse Rapids. This evening is yours to enjoy at leisure.
- Day 9 – Whitehorse, Skagway, Embark Ship:
Travel to Skagway to board your premium cruise ship. Take time to settle into your cabin and become acquainted with life on board, or head ashore to explore the town. Once a frontier gateway to the Klondike, Skagway still celebrates its gold rush heritage, with historic streets lined with character-filled stores and saloons that echo the spirit of a bygone era.
- Day 10 – Glacier Bay:
Wake up to the breathtaking sight of Glacier Bay National Park this morning, and admire its formidable rivers of ice, wild coastline, and sheltered fjords — it’s easy to see why the area has received World Heritage status. Today, you’ll gain a more detailed insight into the unique nature of this national park as local rangers join you on board to explain the geological wonders and diverse wildlife found in this remarkable region.
- Day 11 – Ketchikan:
Arrive today in the Alaskan town of Ketchikan, regarded as the salmon capital of the world and renowned for its idyllic scenery and rich Alaskan Native cultures. Here, you will have free time to relax and explore the town at your leisure. Alternatively, perhaps join a walking tour of the town or learn about the history of Tlingit culture at Saxman Native Village (additional expense), where you’ll be fascinated by the collection of Native American totem poles found on display.
- Day 12 – Inside Passage:
Today marks your final day aboard your premium Holland America Line cruise ship. You’ll spend the day cruising south through the Inside Passage and its magnificent landscapes. There is time to relax on board and enjoy the premium facilities of your ship while you take in the incredible views of towering glaciers and snow-capped peaks. This evening, savour a final dinner on board.
- Day 13 – Disembark Cruise, Depart Vancouver:
